An admissions portal that needed to scale across multiple student populations.
The university's admissions process spanned multiple student populations (undergraduate, graduate, international, and DFC), each with distinct touchpoints, requirements, and communication needs. The existing Salesforce environment had gaps: the admissions portal needed to scale, application forms were difficult to update without developer involvement, and the marketing team lacked the infrastructure to send targeted communications based on where a student was in the enrollment funnel.

- Admissions portal & recommendation workflowDigital Mass built out the university's Experience Cloud site, which guides prospective and current students through admissions steps including transcript submission and application requirements. A digital recommendation process was implemented through the portal: collecting recommender information, triggering automated emails with submission links, and giving students an admin view to monitor status and send reminders.
- Data-driven application formsRather than hardcoding application questions into metadata, Digital Mass maintained and extended the university's existing approach of storing form questions as data in custom objects. This allows administrators to update or reconfigure the application process through standard Salesforce data tools: no developer time required.
- Public-facing Lightning Out componentsTwo Lightning Out components were built for the university's external website: a Counselor Lookup tool for prospective students, and a Request for Information form with dynamic configuration across undergraduate, graduate, international, and DFC populations.
- Marketing Cloud business unit setupDigital Mass configured Marketing Cloud with separate business units for each school within the university, enabling targeted student communications based on admissions lifecycle stage and enrollment milestones.
